Kia ora! So, I could tell you about my last few days of not doing a lot and having a singing lesson and stuff, but there’s something more important. I move into my apartment tomorrow! Well, actually, I move into an apartment down the hall, coz my one won’t be legally finished for 2 weeks. Something about a usable fire exit… But this one is available now (tenant dropped out) and its new and everything too. So, here’s some pictures […]

Hi everyone! So, some more slow days. It was a lot cooler (*bliss*), but I was still unmotivated, so I didn’t make it into uni to work. I did some work here though, so sweet. The korowai at home is going *fantastically*. Here’s a picture of our progress on this *new* korowai. But, I had my first hockey practice/trial last night, which was awesome! It went really well! So, I’m meant to go back for another trial/practice tomorrow night at […]

Heya, So, it was a long, hot and slow weekend. It was *so hot* here. I hear you guys are having rain and storms – I would kill for some rain now. Its so dry. Ack. So, I did make some shopping trips. On Friday, Wendy dropped me off at Chapel St, which is an *awesome* street shopping stretch. I didn’t even get through a third of the length of the street. Its like as long as Remuera Road, and […]

It occurs to me, I didn’t upload any photos from the Farewell Parties that were thrown before I left. So, here’s a few. WARNING! Image heavy post! If you have dial-up, this will be *very* slow.

Kia ora everyone! A day of shopping. Hoorah! Though temperatures got up to 32 degrees here and its just so damn dry. Had my drinking bottle with me *constantly*. And town was packed! But, that’s still to be expected with the Commonwealth games and everything. Definately a lot of tourists around (the bumbags were giveaways). Still, went to Chinatown, which was just full of Chinese restaurants (‘The Spicy Fish’, ‘The Golden Sun’, etc) and herbal stores.

Hello! So, yesterday was a quiet day. I slept til midday (*bliss*), then Wendy took me to the local mall to buy some cutlery and crockery for the apartment. Ended up getting a nice silver-looking set of cutlery and a white porcelein set from Target (similar to Farmers). I figured I’d go standard with the plates then everything else (like place mats, napkins, glasses and mugs) can be pretty.

Heya, So, there’s news. Rob has starts a job in Auckland tomorrow on a open contract, which is kool coz he can get over here whenever he wants if any of the Melbourne jobs come through. So, yay for Rob earning money and getting experience. Hooray! I went and saw Ray today, and he pretty much wants me to brainstorm ideas for the next couple of weeks and we have weekly meetings to discuss things. It looks like I could […]

Heya, So, I’m settled into Wendy’s lovely whare, where they’ve given me Abbey’s room (their daughter) and Abbey is going to stay with her boyfriend (who lives in the apartment above). Still, the room is big and spacious, and Wendy has broadband. Yes! I bought a duvet and pillows from Target and have made up my bed in my bedding. That, plus my laptop and some luggage on the floor – its great.

Hey everyone. So this is a big PHOTOS post but also a busy day post, coz Rob and I did the tourist thing here. So, for those of you who don’t know or haven’t seen, the last time I saw the whanau korowai (feather cloak), it looked like this: And I don’t think I’ll see any more til graduation. Exciting! But here are a couple of pictures of my new apartment. It will be furnished, with couch and tv cabinet […]

Hello everyone! I’m in another 4* hotel (terrible I know – Thanks Dad!) while Robs here for the weekend. But, I found an apartment. Yes, we looked at a ton of flats. Some of them were absolutely hideous. Vomit worthy. How can people live like that? Ergh! Moldy bathrooms and stained carpets and filthy kitchens and eeeeeeeewwwwwwww! So, after seeing about 10 horrible places, Mum saw a billboard for “brand new apartments, each bedroom has a bathroom, exceptional security” and […]

Hello peoples, So, I’ve made the move from Auckland, New Zealand to Melbourne, Australia. Hooray! Today is a day of flat hunting and making contacts with people here. But, Melbourne is totally concerned with the Commonwealth Games. *sigh* The hype, the hype! The Queen’s here and everything (along with her classic wave), but there are no tickets to any NZ Women hockey games. Darn it. Am slowly getting used to the Aussie accent. There was a lady in the chemist, […]
