In the middle of May 2010, Rob and I left Melbourne, which had been our home for 4 years. We have a few get togethers before we left, but the drinkies the night before we went was brilliant. So many friends that we’d made from different circles came, which was so wonderful. Not everyone got a picture here, but you know who you are. Thanks for coming! Our netball mates. Thanks for all the fun times! Hockey peeps and Flat […]

Despite living in Melbourne for 4 years, we never actually bothered to go to the Formula 1 Grand Prix. This year, as our last in Melbourne, we decided to make the effort and go down to a practice day. It was pretty neat. And excessively loud. You’ll have to excuse the quality of our photography. We’re new to SLR, and are working things out as we go.

Who would’ve known I would’ve gotten so slack. So, there’s been a lot happening and not a lot happening since July. I submitted a conference paper about my work to ACRA, the Australian Conference on Robotics and Automation which is going to be held in Brisbane in mid-December, so long as my paper gets accepted. It was a pretty shit paper really, but such is life. The ones I write post thesis will be better. So, my Masters is officially […]

So, like I said last time, Rob and I moved house. Rob and my room, with our lovely cheap pieces of furniture (tho all was either new, or near new – yay for budget!) The back living room, which is where we spend most of our time coz its carpeted, easy to heat and the tv’s in there. *Perfect* Our kitchen, including messy sink. 🙂 We have 2 fridges, as there’s gonna be 4 of us so we’ll need the […]

Hey everyone, So, just quickly and without photos: We are now living in a single storey 3 bedroom house with 2 of our friends. Currently its just Rob and me, so we don’t know what to do with ourselves knocking around this big house. Its fantastic. We have most of the essential furniture items. No couch yet, but are making do with bean bags. The house is *cold*. A south facing house on the south side of a hill – […]

So, last week John and Matta came over to visit Rob and me, which was *great*. We didn’t actually *do* alot. There was a lot of hanging out with our Rusden mates, and playing pool, and watching movies. But there was also activities. Down at Docklands (Melbourne’s version of Viaduct) in front of one of the Sea Shepherd ships. We took the boys to a Footy match (aka Aussie Rules). Richmond Tigers vs Sydney Swans. The Swans kicked ass, but […]

So, it’s been a month since I posted (my bad) and a few things have happened. So, Rob and I are right into pre-season sport stuff with hockey and soccer twice a week. Rob’s also playing indoor cricket once a week with some mates at work. Since the drought has been so bad, the soccer boys aren’t allowed to actually train on the fields, coz they’re saving them for games. So they run around the field lots once a week, […]

Kia ora everyone! So, Rob and I have been back in Melbourne a month and have been a lil busy. But its been fun. 😀 So briefly, we’ve been to Brighton Beach (kinda like Mission Bay of Melbourne), but it was so windy there were more kite surfers than sun bathers. We also went to the Australian Open, hoping to see some tennis, but it poured with rain and we didnt see anything. But the successful thing we did do […]

So, in order of things that have occured, I got a hockey ball walloped my thigh. See beautiful picture below. What was kinda interesting was that I didn’t really notice my leg had taken the full impact of this girl’s hit, because it nicked my hand first and that hurt *so* much more. Both hand and leg are fine now, with mild discolourations. 🙂 In other news, Rob bought himself a new digital camera. JVC, 30Gb hard drive (so no […]

Hi everyone! So, a few things have been going on. For starters, Rob and I both had to apply for Victorian Driver’s Licences to legally drive in Victoria. And they gave me a FULL licence. *grin* Yes, for those of you who don’t know, I was still on my restricted. But I have a full now. And didn’t have to do a test either. Hoorah! A few weeks ago, Rob got a text message from a guy, Alex, who Rob […]

Kia ora! So, back in Melbourne again. Back in the dry, hot days, and cold nights. Was great seeing everyone last weekend, and while I’d love to show you all photos from the weekends activities – I left my camera there. And that just sux. Am getting Mum to post it over, so sweet. Saw Wendy yesterday for lunch and visited the very lush Botanical gardens near teh CBD. Was strange to see so much greenery in Melbourne. Next weekend, […]

Heya! So, Rob and I had quite a busy weekend the one gone. Firstly, went out to town with the mates on Friday night for dinner and drinks, which was great. On Saturday, we drove an hour out to Footscray to attend Kamana (Aunty Cindy’s son) and Gina’s wedding. I had to call Uncle Hone to check who was actually getting married so I could write in the card before the ceremony. We *knew* we were at the right place, […]

Hey everyone, So, its been sweltering here. Between 15 and 32 degrees everyday for the past week. Of course, there’s also a bucketload of bush fires – and this is the earliest they’ve started in years, which bodes poorly for the rest of the summer. Victoria is in for a long dry summer. Water restrictions, bush fires – the works. Still, we’ve been enjoying not wearing jerseys, sitting out in the sun for lunch and warm nights – really lovely. […]

Kia ora everyone! So, not a lot been happening in the last couple of weeks. Charlie came over to Melbourne for work for a week, so Rob and I met up with him and his girlfriend Michelle for dinner, drinks and gambling at the Crown Casino, as well as market shopping the next day at Victoria Market. (note: these markets are pretty awesome for food stuffs, and a good thing to check out as a tourist.) But, prolly the highlight […]
