While we were at Lake Tarawera, we thought we should do some touristy stuff. Namely, a stones-throw down the road, we wanted to see The Buried Village. The little museum at the Buried Village was very interesting because of all of the photographs. The Pink and White Terraces ones were great. It drizzled through Christmas and poured through New Years. Well, it was no different at our next holiday destination. Well, we got a couple of days with sunny mornings, but it rained in the afternoons. So we made the most of the sunlight we got! John being dragged by his niece Olivia. Awesome. All in all, being back in NZ was brilliant. So, in brief, flew into Auckland on Christmas Eve, and slept in my old bed at home (thought now its a bright pink and orange… ), but was lovely, squishy and familiar. Christmas was busy, as always. Got a haul of gifts (Star Trek Orginal Series DVD box set, tshirt, singlet, jewellery, tote bag, etc). Had Christmas lunch at home, then went to Snell’s Beach for Christmas dinner with Rob’s family.
