Our last week in the UK was busy. Brilliant, but busy. A wedding, packing and cleaning then a wee London farewell. But firstly, a wedding between the amazing Abbey and Chris. Abbey and Rob have known each other since they were kids – their mothers were best friends all through school and still keep in touch. Rob and I had also kept in touch with Abbey’s Mum, Wendy, who is a great laugh. Rob and I were stoked to get […]

Apologies for the long break in our travel blogging. Last we posted, we were in Maulbronn visiting an Abbey. But our main reason for this European adventure was to go to James and Meike’s wedding in Illingon, Meike’s home town. Many of James and Meike’s friends and family had shown up from all parts of the world and we spent 3 days of getting to know the new in-laws and partying. The wedding service was really lovely. It was in both […]

After a lovely few days in Venice, we got the train to Bologna for my cousin’s (Rob’s cousin) wedding. After arriving at our hotel, we noticed that we could understand everyone… a little to well. We were surrounded by Kiwis, and it seemed that most of us had the same problem – no iron in the room to iron our wedding clothes. We could get the hotel to iron our wedding clothes for us, but that would take a day. […]

We got to catchup with almost all of our friends when we were back in NZ. (Sorry to those who we didn’t get time to see!) The highlight was certainly Eric and Prue’s gorgeous wedding! But first, there was a Hen’s party. The start of our day was learning to lawn bowl from Rob’s grandpa, GramBob. Don’t you love Prue’s dress? It was full of ruffles! No photos from the rest of the day, but it involved a drawing class, […]

Absolutely everybody the Commonwealth over was talking about the royal wedding. Whether in love or disgust, you knew it was happening. Bath was no different. We decided to treat the whole occasion as a tourist attraction, and went down to the local park where they had setup some big screens to watch the festivities. I may have gotten a bit excited by the whole affair. There was a terrible amount of patriotism in the park. Flag waving abound by everyone! […]

Hey everyone, So, we’ve downsized our wedding website for eternal storage. There’s a selection of about 200 photos left in the media gallery. Thank you again for those who contributed to making our wedding day so amazing. Rob and I still talk about aspects of the day the smile. I’m sure we’ll be doing that forever. Arohanui and lots of love, Liz [EDIT] Photos for posterity’s sake…

Hi everyone! I have updated the accommodation availability – The Duke and the Commodore’s Lodge have both been booked out completely! We recommend you stay at either Seaport Village or Hananui Apartments, both for their closeness to the dinner venue, but also their quality. I have also added the ceremony programme, including marae protocols that should be followed during the day. If you have been welcomed onto Te Rawhiti Marae before, you need not participate in the powhiri. It will […]
