For the first month we were in Cambridge, we stayed at 3 different accomodation places. Firsly, was the self-service apartment in town. We loved this for its location, but thought the skinny stairway up and down was a bit of a mission. particularly with all our luggage. Our second accomodation place was another self-service apartment much closer to the train station, about a 10 min walk. We loved the area though, so much that we made sure to look for […]

So, after our three weeks of interviews and travels, on Saturday 10th July we trained up to Cambridge for the move. It was a mission to drag our suitcases and bags from Caroline’s place through 40mins on the tube (with a change in the middle) and up to King’s Cross regional platforms. But there was such a relief once we got there. No more travelling for a while now. Let’s settle into this new place. Cambridge is approximately an hour […]

Was great seeing everyone last weekend, and while I’d love to show you all photos from the weekends activities – I left my camera there. And that just sux. Am getting Mum to post it over, so sweet. Saw Wendy yesterday for lunch and visited the very lush Botanical gardens near teh CBD. Was strange to see so much greenery in Melbourne. Next weekend, […]

So, I’m pretty much, 99% moved in. Yay! Skip straight to pictures: So, here’s two pictures of my bedrooms, which has a desk, two tables, wardrobe and hot water cupboard. Here’s my kitchen, which doesn’t look much different from the last picture, except i need to get a rubbish bin to replace the distasteful plastic bag on the cupboard door. Here’s a picture from the kitchen across the living area. The closest table is my ‘dining room table’ (adorned with […]

Kia ora! So, I could tell you about my last few days of not doing a lot and having a singing lesson and stuff, but there’s something more important. I move into my apartment tomorrow! Well, actually, I move into an apartment down the hall, coz my one won’t be legally finished for 2 weeks. Something about a usable fire exit… But this one is available now (tenant dropped out) and its new and everything too. So, here’s some pictures […]

Heya, So, I’m settled into Wendy’s lovely whare, where they’ve given me Abbey’s room (their daughter) and Abbey is going to stay with her boyfriend (who lives in the apartment above). Still, the room is big and spacious, and Wendy has broadband. Yes! I bought a duvet and pillows from Target and have made up my bed in my bedding. That, plus my laptop and some luggage on the floor – its great.

Hello everyone! I’m in another 4* hotel (terrible I know – Thanks Dad!) while Robs here for the weekend. But, I found an apartment. Yes, we looked at a ton of flats. Some of them were absolutely hideous. Vomit worthy. How can people live like that? Ergh! Moldy bathrooms and stained carpets and filthy kitchens and eeeeeeeewwwwwwww! So, after seeing about 10 horrible places, Mum saw a billboard for “brand new apartments, each bedroom has a bathroom, exceptional security” and […]

Hello peoples, So, I’ve made the move from Auckland, New Zealand to Melbourne, Australia. Hooray! Today is a day of flat hunting and making contacts with people here. But, Melbourne is totally concerned with the Commonwealth Games. *sigh* The hype, the hype! The Queen’s here and everything (along with her classic wave), but there are no tickets to any NZ Women hockey games. Darn it. Am slowly getting used to the Aussie accent. There was a lady in the chemist, […]
